Ruth Lopes

Ruth Lopes has a diverse background in engineering and project coordination. Their most recent position was with Aquapor Serviços, S.A. where they worked as an Engineer starting in 2020. Prior to that, they were employed at Hidra, Hidráulica e Ambiente, Lda. from 2016 to 2020 as an Engineer specializing in sanitation and drainage. Ruth also had responsibilities such as leading proposal development and managing project preparation. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at EEPLan, Lda as a Project Coordinator, overseeing coordination and planning for projects in Mozambique. Before that, they were a Consultant at COWI, Moçambique, Lda from 2013 to 2014, supporting the development of Expressions of Interests and Proposals for various projects. Ruth also worked as an Environmental Consultant at Impacto, Lda from 2011 to 2013, leading environmental impact assessment studies and coordinating stakeholders. Prior to that, they were a Project Engineer at Hidra, Hidráulica e Ambiente Lda from 2009 to 2011, focusing on sanitation and wastewater studies and design. Ruth started their career as a Researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico in 2009.

Ruth Lopes completed their education in a chronological manner. From 1997 to 2002, they attended Instituto Superior Técnico and earned a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology. Subsequently, from 2004 to 2011, they pursued their PhD in Civil Engineering - Hydraulics at the same institution, Instituto Superior Técnico.
