Caroline Delaire is an accomplished professional in the field of water and sanitation, currently serving as the Director of Research & Programs at Aquaya since August 2016, where roles have included Director of Technology and Innovation, Deputy Director for Technology and Innovation, Senior Manager of Research & Programs, and Research Program Manager. Prior to this, Caroline Delaire pursued a PhD in Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley, focusing on iron electro-coagulation for removing contaminants from drinking water and water consumption behaviors in South Asian communities. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley and a background in engineering from École Polytechnique and Lycée Louis le Grand.

The Aquaya Institute is a non-profit research and consulting organization. We deliver knowledge and tools to help achieve universal access to safe water. Aquaya strengthens public and private delivery of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) access in developing countries by combining cutting edge research with strategic consulting. Founded in 2005 by two PhD scientists, Aquaya’s goal is to bridge the divide between academic research and field implementation of measures that expand access to safe drinking water. We provide our clients and partners with in-depth knowledge and experience across a range of disciplines from water quality monitoring to consumer research to impact evaluation.
