Valerie Bauza is a Senior Research Manager at Aquaya since September 2022, following a position as Research Associate at The Water Institute At UNC from November 2021 to September 2022. Prior to this, Valerie served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University from October 2017 to November 2021 and held the role of Graduate Fellow and Research Assistant in Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from January 2013 to September 2017. Valerie's academic background includes a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previous professional experience includes positions as Engineer I at AECOM and Air Management Specialist at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, among others.

The Aquaya Institute is a non-profit research and consulting organization. We deliver knowledge and tools to help achieve universal access to safe water. Aquaya strengthens public and private delivery of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) access in developing countries by combining cutting edge research with strategic consulting.
