Viola Zhang

Viola Zhang is an advisor at AQUMON. Viola previously worked as a quant trader at Athena Capital Research LLC from April 2013 to December 2021. At Athena Capital Research LLC, they analyzed data, studied research papers, and proposed and tested trading strategies. Viola also rotated around all desks on the equity and the fixed income floors, learning about derivative trading and market conventions. Prior to their work at Athena Capital Research LLC, Zhang interned at UBS Investment Bank in the summer of 2012. There they ran regressions on Nikkei's volatility and return, studied parameterization for a model combining VBS and VBM, and summarized key market fixings, rates instruments, and regulations in Asian emerging markets.

Viola Zhang has a Ph.D in Physics from Cornell University, a B.Sc in Math & Physics from The University of Hong Kong, and a B.Sc in Physics from Peking University. Viola is also a High School Graduate in Science from Zhi-Xin Middle School.
