Marcela Rico García

Marcela Rico García has worked in various roles within different companies. Marcela began their career as an Auxiliar de auditoria at Contraloría de Bogotá, D.C. in 2012, where they investigated and determined the fiscal-environmental valuation of waste disposal at the Doña Juana Sanitary Landfill. Marcela achieved the publication of their research in the annual report on the state of natural resources and the environment of Bogotá.

Marcela then worked as an Ingeniera Ambiental-Guía Ambiental at Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá in 2013 and as an Ingeniera Ambiental at Jardín Botánico de Bogotá in 2014.

From 2015 to 2017, they were an Instructora y Coordinadora de Programa Técnico Titulado en Ambiental at SENA, as well as an Instructora de Formación Técnica Titulada en Ambiental in 2015. Marcela also worked as a Docente de Promotoría Ambiental at ADSAMBIENTE in 2016.

In 2014, Marcela worked as an Ingeniera Ambiental at both Instituto Distrital de Participación y Acción Comunal and COLNOTA.

Marcela then became an Instructora de formación en programas técnicos y tecnológicos at Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) in 2018 and an Estructuradora de proyectos y ofertas de negocio at SGS Colombia from 2019 to 2023.

Currently, Marcela holds the position of Innovation and Strategy Analyst at AR CONSTRUCCIONES starting from April 2023.

Marcela Rico García's education history is as follows:

In 2023, they attended Instituto Europeo de Posgrado - IEP, where they obtained a degree in Design Thinking with a focus on Innovation. In the same year, they also studied at Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, earning a degree in Organizational Culture Management for Innovation.

During 2022, they pursued an Especialización en Innovación y Desarrollo de Negocios (Specialization in Innovation and Business Development) at Universidad Externado de Colombia, specializing in Business Administration and Management.

In 2022, they enrolled at Colsubsidio Educación Tecnologica, completing a program in Data Analysis and Big Data in the field of Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services.

In 2021, they attended Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura, where they completed a Diploma in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity. That same year, they obtained a Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma from SGS. Additionally, they studied at Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) during that time.

In 2018, they earned an internal auditor certification in HSEQ ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 from SGS.

Their undergraduate studies took place from 2007 to 2013 at Universidad Santo Tomás Colombia, where they earned a degree in Environmental Engineering.

In terms of language education, they studied French at Alliance Française starting in 2014.
