LUCAS PORTER-BAKKER

Lucas Porter-Bakker has a diverse work experience across multiple industries. LUCAS is currently the Head of Product and Design at ar.io. Prior to this role, they served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Arweave, where they provided guidance and mentoring to founders in the web3 space. LUCAS also worked as the Head of Product and Design at PowerMarket, a role they held from 2020 to 2022.

In 2019, Lucas co-founded GOJI, and they were actively involved in its operations until 2021. LUCAS also gained experience in the design field through their roles as a Designer and Product Designer at Techstars in 2020.

Lucas has international experience as well, having co-founded and served as CEO of Westgroup, a Canadian education company in China, from 2014 to 2018. LUCAS played a key role in the company's growth and expansion into various sectors.

Furthermore, Lucas has showcased their creative talent as an award-winning photographer from 2007 to 2018.

Lucas Porter-Bakker has a diverse education history encompassing various fields of study. LUCAS completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Foreign Languages from Concordia University in 2011. Prior to that, they attended the University of King's College for the Foundation Year Programme in Humanities from 2006 to 2007.

Lucas has pursued further education at several internationally recognized institutions. LUCAS obtained a Master's Degree in Behavioural Economics and Philosophy from Erasmus School of Economics. LUCAS also studied Business with a focus on Mandarin Chinese at Peking University. Additionally, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) program in Master d'Analyse Economique du Droit et des Institutions (Business Law and Economics) at Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management - IAE. Furthermore, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from Ghent University.

In terms of certifications, Lucas has received the HSK 4 certification (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi, a Chinese language proficiency test) from Hutong School. LUCAS has also been recognized as a Mundus Scholar by the European Commission. Additionally, they have completed a specialization in Graphic Design from the California Institute of the Arts.

Moreover, Lucas has attended various programs and courses focused on entrepreneurship, full-stack software engineering, web development, and design. These include participation in Y Combinator, Le Wagon, and Lean Venture Partners x Chinaccelerator.
