Kathryn McCully

Kathryn McCully PhD is an experienced professional in the fields of art and design, currently serving as the Manager of Art+Design at the Ara Institute of Canterbury since June 2021. Prior to this role, Kathryn held the position of Programme Manager for Visual Art, Film, Animation, Game Design, and Fashion at the Southern Institute of Technology from 2011 to June 2021, where responsibilities included programme management, development, administration, and financial oversight. Earlier experience includes serving as the Manager and Curator at Ashburton Public Art Gallery between June 2005 and March 2011, focusing on financial management, public programs, and collection management. Additionally, Kathryn contributed as a writer for Art NZ Magazine from 2005 to 2009. Educational background includes a PhD in Social Capital and Museum Development from Auckland University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts from Dunedin School of Art.
