David Haglund

Mr. Haglund is a Senior Executive Director and Portfolio Manager of the Templeton Frontier and MENA Market strategies.

He has been based in Dubai since 2004. He is responsible for having established and developed Franklin Templeton’s Frontier Fund into one of the largest frontier market products in the world and has been a key contributor to the establishment of the asset class itself.

Mr. Haglund has almost two decades of experience in capital markets, investment analysis, and portfolio management, having held positions in asset management, investment banking, and private equity. He has a strong understanding of macro, industry and company drivers across sectors and geographies, including logistics.

He regularly interacts and works closely with senior executives and boards of directors of publicly listed companies with the aim of improving corporate governance standards and transparency, and enhancing strategy and shareholder value. He also frequently meets with policymakers, economists and financial analysts and has built a very strong professional network across industries and geographies.

Mr. Haglund holds a certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD and is a certified director at Hawkamah. He has obtained an M.S. in Business Administration & Economics from Lund University in Sweden and has completed studies at the National University in Singapore.
