Elie Magambo Gatete

Elie Magambo Gatete has worked at a variety of companies since 2010. Elie began their career at the University of Rwanda, where they were supervised by Dawoud Shenouda and participated in a Day in the Life of Student Documentary Competition. In 2013, they began working as a Software Developer for Jembi Health Systems, as well as a Project Manager for AxIS Investments Ltd. In 2016, they became a Researcher and Machine Learning Research Intern for LeapMind, Inc., where they prototyped Panoptic and Instance segmentation applied in autonomous driving vision for Edge computing devices, used Generative models to augment client limited dataset or style transfer, and experimented with different types of deep learning model compression techniques. In 2019, Elie Magambo Gatete began working at Araya Inc. as a Chief Researcher and Senior Engineer, where they worked on EdgeAI, Neural Network compression, Image recognition, and Active learning. Elie also began working at Axelspace Corporation as a Research Engineer.

Elie Magambo Gatete obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Waseda University from 2015 to 2017. Elie then obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Rwanda from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they studied Mathematics and Physics at Groupe Scolaire De Butare from 2002 to 2004. Elie also attended Ecole des Sciences Byimana from 1998 to 2002 for Junior High/Intermediate/Middle School Education and Teaching.
