Austin Jones

Associate Director Of Software Engineering at Arbor Biotechnologies

Austin Jones has a diverse work experience in the fields of software engineering, algorithm development, and research. Austin is currently working as the Associate Director of Software Engineering at Arbor Biotechnologies since July 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Staff Software Engineer from January 2022 to June 2022. Before joining Arbor Biotechnologies, Austin worked as a Staff Software Engineer at Arbor Biotechnologies from March 2020 to December 2021.

Before their role at Arbor Biotechnologies, Austin gained experience at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they served as a Technical Staff member from March 2016 to February 2020. Their work at MIT Lincoln Laboratory involved algorithm engineering for national security purposes, as well as research in formal methods, differential privacy, and machine learning.

Austin also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology from May 2015 to January 2016. During this time, they collaborated with control theory researchers in the Georgia Robotics and InTelligent Systems (GRITS) Laboratory and the Advanced Mechanical Bipedal Experimental Robotics (AMBER) Laboratory. Their work focused on applying formal methods techniques to challenges in multi-agent systems, agriculture, bipedal robotics, and adaptive cruise control.

Furthermore, Austin gained research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boston University from August 2011 to May 2015. Austin was a member of the Hybrid and Networked Systems (HyNeSs) Laboratory and Multi-Robot Systems Laboratory (MSL).

Additionally, Austin worked as a Research Intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in May 2014 and as a Research Scientist at Numerica Corporation from June 2010 to July 2011. These experiences contributed to their expertise in various research and engineering domains.

Austin Jones earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Systems Science and Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, which they attended from 2006 to 2010. Austin then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Systems Engineering at Boston University, completing this program from 2011 to 2015.
