Andrea Conter has over 30 years of experience in various leadership roles, primarily in the retail industry. Andrea has a strong background in human resources and has demonstrated success in managing teams and improving employee engagement. From 2020, Andrea is the Human Resources Director and Interim COO at The Arc of Anchorage, where they oversee the HR operations and is the point of contact for over 250 employees. Prior to that, they worked as a Store Manager at Burlington Stores, where they achieved 100% team member retention despite a pandemic-related closure and implemented strategies to foster a culture of belonging and acknowledgement. From 2005 to 2019, Andrea served as a Store Manager at Barnes & Noble, where they led a top-performing team and developed a strong succession plan, resulting in quick backfills for key positions. Andrea also significantly improved employee tenure. Before that, they worked as a Store Manager at Office Depot, where they transformed a low-ranking store into a top-performing location within a year. Andrea's career started at Toys R Us in 1991, where they successfully managed a full store remodel while balancing increased sales due to the closure of another store.

Andrea Conter has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Western Governors University. Andrea obtained this degree in 2023. In addition, they also hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, which they are currently pursuing from the same university, with an expected completion date of 2023.

Andrea Conter has achieved several certifications related to their field. Andrea obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources – International (SPHRi) certification from HRCI in September 2021. Prior to this, in August 2021, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification, also from HRCI. Andrea'searliest certification, the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), was obtained from SHRM in February 2019.
