James Connolly

James Connolly is an accomplished mining executive with extensive experience in technical and project leadership roles across various companies in the mining and resource sectors. Current position as Mining Executive at Connolly Mining Services commenced in September 2024. Previously, James served as Chief Technical Officer and Chief Project Development Officer at Allkem Limited from June 2022 to August 2024. Before that, roles included Director at Sumbawa Timur Mining and Global Head of Projects and Capital Allocation at Vale from January 2019 to June 2022. James also held vice presidential positions focused on operations, technical excellence, and project evaluations at Barrick Gold Corporation between September 2016 and December 2018. With earlier experience at Waterton Global Resource Management, SGS Canada Inc., E+PC, and Anglovaal Minerals, James developed a strong foundation in metallurgy and process engineering. Academic qualifications include a BSc Eng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town.
