Dirk Francis

Dirk Francis is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at ArcelorMittal France since September 2024 and at ArcelorMittal Dofasco since May 2022. Prior roles include Chief Operating Officer at ArcelorMittal Bremen from October 2018 to May 2022 and various leadership positions at ArcelorMittal Belgium from October 1998 to September 2018, where Dirk led initiatives in blast furnace operations and cost-saving programs. Dirk's career commenced at Philips Lighting, focusing on the development of energy-saving lamps. Dirk holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from KU Leuven and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from KAHO Sint-Lieven, complemented by a solid educational foundation in scientific studies from local institutions.
