Dietmar Schmidtke

Dietmar Schmidtke has extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as General Manager for Long Steel Products at ArcelorMittal South Africa since May 2013. Previous roles at ArcelorMittal South Africa include Senior Manager, Works Manager for Rolling operations, Plant Manager for both Coke Making and Medium Mill, and Production Manager for the Rod Mill. Prior to this, Dietmar held the position of Operations Manager at Unitrans from April 2012 to April 2013. Dietmar's career at ArcelorMittal South Africa began in January 2001, progressing through positions such as Manager of Logistics and Tactical Planning, Tactical Planning Specialist, and Analyst. Education includes a MAP from Wits Business School (2015), along with studies at Potchefstroom University (2003-2005) and Vaal Triangle Technikon (1998-2000).
