Pinakin Chaubal

Pinakin Chaubal, PhD, is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at ArcelorMittal, a position held since January 1988, where responsibilities include formulating technology strategies to enhance sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness within the organization. Previous roles at ArcelorMittal include General Manager for international Process R&D, overseeing a significant global budget and managing over 400 associates across eight laboratories, as well as Manager of Process Research and CTO Iron-Making Expert. Prior academic positions include adjunct professor at Purdue University Calumet and assistant professor at the University of Utah, both focusing on metallurgical engineering. Pinakin Chaubal holds a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah, an MS from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
