Renata Obiala

Renata Obiala is a highly experienced professional in the field of civil engineering, currently serving as the Head of Construction and Infrastructure Applications Department at ArcelorMittal since April 2017. Leading a team of 14 civil engineers, Renata oversees over 50 projects focused on product development, software development, and standardization. Previous roles include Senior Research Engineer at ArcelorMittal, where coaching and project proposal preparation for external funding were key responsibilities, and Senior Researcher at the University of Luxembourg, concentrating on steel and composite structures. Renata’s extensive experience spans various research and engineering positions, including roles at Corus RD&T UK and involvement in European projects related to fire engineering and modern construction. Renata holds a PhD from Heriot-Watt University and an MSc from Politechnika Krakowska im. Tadeusza Kościuszki.
