Tom Gommers

Tom Gommers is a seasoned project manager currently leading engineering efforts for the DRI plant and material handling systems at ArcelorMittal since June 2019. Previously, Tom managed metal 3D printing activities at TheSteelPrinters and facilitated knowledge transfer and benchmarking between coke plants in Ghent and Taranto. With experience at Bekaert from September 2010 to May 2019, Tom held various roles including R&D project manager, focusing on process development and equipment selection, and two-way learning engineer, working on integrating Pirelli technology. Tom holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven, earned between 2005 and 2010.
