ARCH Artifex is a professional services company that partners with clients, contractors, and consultants to meet the increasing demands of project development and delivery in the Roads, Rail, ICT and Power sectors.

ARCH was founded in 2014 by John Armstrong. John's vision was to provide an alternative consultancy model focussed first and foremost on delivering measurable outcomes for our clients.

From our initial Engineering and Project Management services for projects such as Sydney Light Rail and Sydney Metro, ARCH quickly expanded to provide Systems Engineering & Safety Assurance and is now the leading independent provider of SESA in NSW.

In 2018, John and the leadership welcomed Artifex. Artifex was originally founded in 2005 and has an impressive track record in managing infrastructure projects.  As ARCH Artifex, our Project Services Group has expanded to also provide Communications & Stakeholder Management, Project Planning & Controls, and Constructability.

By combining our leadership and 20 years’ experience, we’ve added depth and substantially strengthened our capability in Engineering & Project Management and Systems Engineering & Safety Assurance.

All of us at ARCH Artifex have a passion for developing and delivering projects, and the ability to consider each stage from all sides of the equation: customer, client, contractor and consultant. 

We’re currently working on or have recently worked on some game-changing projects, including the WestConnex, Sydney Metro and Western Sydney Airport.

In 2021, ARCH Artifex opened new offices in Victoria and Queensland.  Early projects include the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) for Melbourne Metro and assisting on the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade (B2N).
