Karen Robertson

Karen Robertson has extensive work experience in the field of trade compliance and regulatory compliance. Karen is currently serving as the Head of Trade Compliance at Archer. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Consultant from June 2022 to November 2023. Karen also held positions as the VP of Compliance at Astra from March 2023 to August 2023, and as the Director of Operations at Phylagen from October 2021 to May 2022.

Before that, Karen worked at Uber as a Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance from September 2018 to October 2021, and as a Trade Compliance Manager from October 2016 to September 2018. Karen also gained valuable experience at Intel Corporation, where they served as a Sanctions and Regulatory Compliance Manager from April 2015 to October 2016, and as a Senior Export Technology Specialist from February 2013 to April 2015.

Additionally, Karen held the role of Associate Manager, Global Trade Compliance at Symantec from December 2010 to February 2013. Karen started their career at Varian Medical Systems as an Export Compliance Analyst from September 2008 to September 2010. Karen also gained international experience as an International Fellow at the United Nations from January 2008 to July 2008, and in the Press Office of the U.S. Department of State from May 2007 to August 2007.

Karen Robertson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Language & Literature and Cinema & Media Studies from Wellesley College in 2006. Karen then pursued a Master of Arts degree in International Policy Studies and Nonproliferation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, completing it in 2008. In 2004, they also studied at Waseda University and Japan Women's University of Japan, although no specific degrees or fields of study were provided.
