Architect of the Capitol
Daniel Murphy is a seasoned engineering professional with over two decades of experience in facility operations and project management. Since September 2002, Daniel has served as the Supervisory General Engineer at the Architect of the Capitol, overseeing Facility Operations for the House of Representatives, including key systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Previously, Daniel worked as a Project Engineer within the same organization, managing significant construction projects. Prior to that, experience includes serving as an Electrical Engineer at both the Washington Headquarters Services, where Daniel managed electrical systems for the Pentagon, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, overseeing projects at Ft. Dix and McGuire AFB. Daniel's academic background includes a Master's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, both from The Catholic University of America, complemented by a foundational education at Archmere Academy.
