Architect of the Capitol
Mohamed Ashiq Yusuf is an experienced environmental engineer and sustainability manager currently serving at the Architect of the Capitol since November 2019. Previously, Mohamed held the position of Physical Scientist at the U.S. Department of State from April 2015 to October 2019, where responsibilities included advising on environmental health and safety for overseas posts and collaborating with international and city governments on regulatory compliance. Prior to this role, Mohamed worked as a Government Programs Engineer for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority from November 2007 to April 2015. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Science from George Mason University and a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Science and Public Policy from the University of Maryland Global Campus, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology from Washington College.
