Steve Metcalf has extensive experience in communications and media, currently serving as the Strategic Communications Manager at Arcora Foundation since August 2021, where efforts focus on advancing oral health outcomes for marginalized communities. Prior experience includes providing communications leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and producing content for television news at multiple stations, including KIRO TV and KING TV, where audience reach exceeded 1.8 million households. Steve holds an MA in Journalism from Michigan State University and multiple degrees in French and English from Whitman College, alongside certifications from The Sorbonne and The Institute of European Studies.

Arcora Foundation
Arcora Foundation advances oral health across Washington state. We are the foundation of Delta Dental of Washington, and the state’s largest foundation dedicated to this cause. We lead with equity in our work to achieve good oral health for all. Through partnerships, we focus our prevention and access priorities on racial and ethnic communities—specifically Black, Indigenous, and People of Color—where disparities in oral disease and access to care are significant. Our mission is in our name: bending the arc of oral health toward equity.
