David Orellana, PMP

David Orellana, PMP has over 26 years of work experience in the IT industry. David is currently working as a Software Engineering Manager at Arcoro since February 2021. Previously, they worked as a Senior Manager, Software Engineering at Shutterfly, Inc. from May 2020 to October 2020.

David's most extensive role was at Con Edison, where they held multiple positions over a period of 25 years. Starting as a Management Intern in June 1995, they progressed to IT Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, IT Senior Systems Analyst, BizTalk Developer, and finally, IT Systems Manager and Software Engineering Manager, a role they held from October 2014 to April 2020.

At Con Edison, David was responsible for various key responsibilities, including managing development teams, transforming teams from Waterfall to Agile Scrum, performing project management functions, business analysis, and implementing mobile and internal web applications. David collaborated with cross-functional teams and played a crucial role in establishing application support teams.

David also managed departmental and project budgets and provided career development guidance to developers. David actively participated in process improvement initiatives and conducted interviews for the IT Management Intern program. Additionally, they were responsible for providing communication and presentations to all levels of management, including top leadership.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to successfully manage complex projects.

David Orellana, PMP, obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Queens College from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained the following certifications: ICAgile Certified Professional from ICAgile, obtained in December 2017, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, obtained in July 2013.
