Bárbara Andrea Castro Puente has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Graphic Designer and Administration Support at the Academy of Languages and Training Canada, where they developed business relationships and created marketing materials. In 2013, they provided administrative support at MOSAIC, handling tasks such as filing, event planning, and establishing performance measures. Bárbara Andrea also served as a Project Coordinator at Langara College, delivering administrative support and managing relationships with various groups. From 2014 to 2019, Bárbara worked at Sugoi Global Inc., initially as a Junior Graphic Artist and later as an Art Department Manager & Operations. In these roles, they coordinated custom orders, conducted workshops and training, managed a team, and provided exceptional customer service.
In 2020, Bárbara founded UNUTRA, where they created, developed, and facilitated programs and webinars to support emerging leaders and newcomers. Bárbara Andrea also effectively delivered and managed virtual training programs to private and non-profit organizations. Additionally, they served as a Zoom Program Manager at the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI), where they were responsible for managing virtual programs.
Bárbara's most recent roles include working at the Right Use of Power Institute™ as a Board Member, and at Arc'teryx Equipment as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program Manager. At the Right Use of Power Institute™, they served as a Program Director and Director of Training, while at Arc'teryx Equipment, they focused on promoting diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
Bárbara Andrea Castro Puente (she/her/ella) has a diverse education history that includes certifications and programs related to emotional intelligence, mindfulness, leadership, and personal development. In 2019, they became a certified facilitator at SIYLI - Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, where they focused on the areas of emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and leadership. Prior to that, in 2017, Bárbara completed a program in Authentic Leadership & Mindfulness at work at Naropa University. Bárbara Andrea also attended SPARK Creations & Company Inc. in 2016-2017 for the Essence Leadership Program, which aimed to develop conscious and purpose-driven leaders. In 2014, they gained management skills and applications knowledge from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Bárbara expanded their skill set further in 2013 by completing a program in technical communication skills at the same institute. Additionally, they hold a professional organizer certification from QC Career School, and a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Universidad Tecnológica de México. Bárbara has also acquired several certifications in various areas, including unconscious bias, mindfulness, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Bárbara Andrea is continuously seeking growth and is expected to complete the Power and Equity Challenge certification from the Right Use of Power Institute™ in 2023.
