Alex Richardson

Alex Richardson has a wealth of experience in software engineering, beginning with a Junior Java Developer role at HSBC in 2010. Alex then moved to Shazam in 2015 as a Scala Engineer (News Feed) and then to Morgan Stanley in 2016 as a Scala Developer. In 2017, they joined ThoughtWorks as a Senior Software Engineer before taking up a role as Head of Platform and Lead Server Developer at Arctic Shores in 2019.

Alex Richardson completed a Master of Science (MS) in Banking and Finance from Newcastle University in 2010. Alex obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics and Computer Science from the same university in 2009. Prior to that, they attended Sir John Lawes School from 1998 to 2005. In addition, Richardson holds certifications in Fast Track to Akka from Typesafe, obtained in February 2015, and Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera, obtained in November 2013.
