Guillaume Mata has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry and research. Guillaume has recently been working at Arcus Biosciences as a Principal Investigator in R&D Chemistry since July 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Scientist in R&D Chemistry at the same company from July 2020 to July 2022. Before joining Arcus Biosciences, Guillaume worked as a Scientist in R&D Chemistry at the company from June 2018 to June 2020.
Before their industry experience, Guillaume worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University from March 2017 to April 2018, where they worked on Asymmetric Catalysis under the guidance of Prof. B. M. Trost and was a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow.
Prior to their time at Stanford, Guillaume also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research from January 2015 to January 2017. During their time there, they focused on Total Synthesis under the supervision of Prof. A. Fürstner.
Guillaume started their professional career as a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Zurich from September 2010 to November 2014. Guillaume conducted their Doctoral Studies in Bioorganic Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. N. W. Luedtke, with a particular focus on Fluorescent DNA Probe.
Guillaume Mata completed their education in the field of Chemistry. Guillaume earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Strasbourg in 2007. Guillaume then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry at Université d'Orléans from 2007 to 2010. In 2009, they conducted their Master Thesis in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Bath. Later, they attended the University of Zurich, where they obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy in Bioorganic Chemistry from 2010 to 2014.
