Richard Markus

Richard Markus currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Arcus Biosciences, a position held since January 2025. Previously, Richard was the CEO of Dantari, Inc. from February 2019 to August 2024, leading the clinical-stage biotechnology company in the development of targeted therapeutics for cancer treatment. Richard's extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries includes a role as Vice President of Global Development at Amgen from February 2006 to February 2019, and Senior Medical Director at Corus Pharma prior to its acquisition by Gilead Sciences. Richard also served as Medical Director at Allecure from 2000 to 2003. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology from the University of Southern California, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Cybernetics from UCLA.
