Sebastian Naidoo has extensive work experience in the field of communications and media. Sebastian started their career as an Assistant English Teacher with the JET Programme from 1992 to 1995. Sebastian then worked as a Junior Reporter at the Cambodia Daily Newspaper from December 1996 to April 1997. Following this, they worked as a freelance Reporter at Independent Newspaper / Big Issue Magazine from September 1997 to April 1998. Sebastian then joined OneWorld.net as an International News Editor from 1998 to 2003.

In 2003, Sebastian joined the United Nations as a Program Manager, where they oversaw coverage of conflict situations and natural disasters, conducted fundraising activities, and recruited staff, interns, and volunteers for a period of 5 years. Sebastian also established a sub-unit of ReliefWeb in Panama City and 3 surge teams within the United States and Americas region.

Sebastian then worked as a Managing Editor at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 2009. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Communications Specialist at the UNDP. Most recently, they worked at the Arcus Foundation as the Global Media Director from 2012 onwards, where they devised and implemented media funding strategies, coordinated capacity building workshops, and facilitated storytelling activities.

Sebastian Naidoo pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Masters degree in Japanese at the University of London from 1995 to 1996.
