Toyia Phillips

Toyia Phillips has a strong background in human resources and administration. Toyia is currently the Director of Human Resources and Administration at the Arcus Foundation since 2020. Prior to this, they held a similar role at the Data & Society Research Institute from 2017 to 2020, where they managed recruitment, onboarding, and training programs for new staff. From 2010 to 2016, they served as the Sr. Director of Human Resources and Administration at the Joan Mitchell Foundation. Phillips also has experience in operations management, as evidenced by their role as Operations Manager at The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation from 2008 to 2010. Phillips began their career in administrative roles, including serving as an Administrative Assistant at Columbia University and as an Assistant to the Director of Business Services at New York University School of Medicine.

Toyia Phillips received their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Metropolitan College of New York in 2005. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Marymount Manhattan College, where they attended from 1998 to 2001. In 2015, they also obtained a certification as a Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
