Matthew Williams has a strong background in internal audit and finance. Starting in 1999, they worked as an Auditor and later as a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2007, they joined United Drug plc as a Senior Manager Group Internal Audit. During their time there, they also took on additional roles in Corporate Development and Group Finance, where they were responsible for financial reporting, analysis, and policy development. In 2013, they became Vice President, Head of Internal Audit at Hudson Advisors Europe DAC. Matthew then moved to Takeda in 2016, where they held the positions of Director of Internal Audit and Head of Internal Audit. Most recently, they joined Ardagh Group in 2019 as the Chief Controls Officer.
Matthew Williams attended St Andrew's College from 1989 to 1995. Matthew then pursued a Bachelor of Business Studies (Honors) in Corporate Finance at Trinity College Dublin from 1995 to 1999. Finally, they obtained the FCA designation from Chartered Accountants Ireland between 1999 and 2002.
