Jan Kaczmarczyk

Director of Data Science | Lead Data Scientist in Immunology at Ardigen

Jan Kaczmarczyk has a diverse work experience in data science and research. Jan started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Jagiellonian University, where they developed a novel method for describing strongly-correlated quantum systems and published 10 research papers. Jan also obtained a research grant and taught multiple courses in algorithms, programming, and physics methods.

After that, they worked as a Postdoc at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, where they authored a model providing the first theoretical explanation of a pattern observed in the alignment of molecules coupled to a bosonic bath.

Currently, Jan is working at Ardigen, where they have held various roles since 2017. Jan has served as the Director of Data Science and Lead Data Scientist in Immunology, leading Scrum teams and managing the Immunology Business Unit as the Interim General Manager. Jan has also published research posters and papers in immuno-oncology and AI in drug discovery during their time at Ardigen. Jan has applied machine learning methods in metabolomics, cheminformatics, and immuno-oncology projects, and their team finished in 2nd place in the DREAM-Proteogenomics Challenge.

Overall, Jan Kaczmarczyk has a strong background in data science, research, and leadership roles, with expertise in quantum systems, molecular alignment, and machine learning applications in various fields.

Jan Kaczmarczyk's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Applied Computer Science from Jagiellonian University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2012. Jan then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at Jagiellonian University from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained two certifications: a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in February 2022, and a Machine Learning certification from Coursera - Stanford University in February 2017.
