John Halsema

John Halsema has a diverse and extensive work experience. John began their career in the US Navy, serving as a Captain for over 20 years. In 1989, they joined The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory as a Draper Fellow for three years.

Halsema then moved into the technology industry, starting with Intergraph as a Technical Director from 2005 to 2008. John was later promoted to Chief Architect/Technical Director until November 2008 when they transitioned to Cisco Systems, Inc. At Cisco, they held the position of Director and CTO, Physical Safety and Security Systems, Advanced Services until September 2009.

In 2009, Halsema joined Rolta International as a Senior Vice President, Public Safety and Security, a role they held for three years until September 2012. John then became Chief Operating Officer and CTO at ARES Corporation, where they were responsible for corporate and technical direction, leading the research and development, operations, and business teams.

John Halsema attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1989 to 1992. During this time, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Ocean Engineering with a focus on Acoustics and Signal Processing.
