Steve Newman has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Steve began their career as an Environmental Engineer and Aeroacoustic Flight Test expert at the Federal Aviation Administration in 1974. In 1974, they also joined NASA and held the position of Director of Review and Assessment in the Office of Safety and Mission Assurance until 2006. In 2006, they joined ARES Corporation as VP Technology Applications and Chief Engineer. Steve then moved on to become a Professorial Lecturer in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at George Washington University in 2015. Currently, they are the Principal Owner of WindyRun Aerospace, a position they have held since 2013.
Steve Newman's education history includes a Doctorate of Science in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University, which they received from 1998 to 2002. Steve also holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering, respectively, from Northwestern University, where they studied from 1967 to 1972. Prior to their higher education, Steve obtained their High School Diploma from Evanston Township High School in 1967.
