James Kim

James Kim is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as Partner and Head of European Opportunistic Credit at Ares Management Corporation since September 2022. Prior to this role, James was on gardening leave from January to September 2022. Between May 2010 and December 2021, James held the position of Partner and European Co-Head of Hybrid Value at Apollo Global Management LLC. Earlier in the career, James worked as an Associate in European Leveraged Finance at Citi from 2006 to April 2010 and as an Analyst in Private Equity at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan from 2004 to 2006. James holds an Honours in Business Administration from Ivey Business School at Western University.
