Calman Prussin, M.D. has substantial experience in the field of allergy and immunology. Calman currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at AreteiaTx, where they are leading the development of an oral therapy for eosinophilic asthma. Previously, they served as a Special Volunteer in the Allergy & Immunology Training Program at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and later became a Staff Physician, Clinical Investigator, and Laboratory Director in the same institution. Calman also served as the Associate Director of the A&I Clinical Training Program and headed the Lymphocyte Biology Unit at NIAID. In addition, Dr. Prussin held leadership positions at Knopp Biosciences LLC, where they were the Vice President and Senior Director of Clinical and Translational Medicine. Calman played a critical role in the development of a small molecule drug for hypereosinophilic syndromes and eosinophilic asthma. Furthermore, Dr. Prussin served as Chair and Member of the Board of Directors at the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and was a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Calman also had the opportunity to contribute their expertise as a member of the FDA Pulmonary-Allergy Drugs Advisory Committee.

Dr. Calman Prussin's education history is as follows:

Dr. Prussin obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from UC San Diego, where they studied from 1975 to 1980. Calman then enrolled in the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where they earned their Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree in Medicine, completing their studies from 1980 to 1984.

Following their medical degree, Dr. Prussin pursued an Internal Medicine Residency program at LA County/USC Medical Center, conducted at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. This residency lasted from 1984 to 1988.

Dr. Prussin later engaged in a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Laboratory of Cellular & Molecular Immunology at the NIAID/NIH. This fellowship took place from 1989 to 1991.

In further specialization, Dr. Prussin completed a Fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at the NIAID/NIH, where they trained from 1991 to 1994.
