Susanne Schuurman

Head of Market Access at Arex Advisor

Susanne Schuurman has a diverse work experience in the field of market access and health economics. Susanne started their career as a Policy Intern at UMC Utrecht in 2014 and later worked as a Graduate Intern at Smith & Nephew, where they gained experience in evidence-based selling and procurement processes. Susanne then joined Mapi Group as an Analyst in HTA Strategy & Communication, focusing on health economics. After the acquisition of Mapi Group by ICON plc, Susanne became a Senior Research Analyst in Global HTA and Health Economic Reimbursement Outcomes and later a Consultant in the same field. In these roles, they were responsible for developing market access strategies, conducting HTA landscape assessments, and managing projects. Currently, Susanne works at Arex Advisor as the Head of Market Access, where they are the primary point of contact for all market access project-related activities. Their responsibilities include consultancy on market access in the Nordics and BeNeLux, including launch preparations, reimbursement dossiers, pricing analysis, and early market access strategic advice for pharmaceutical companies. Throughout their career, Susanne has demonstrated expertise in strategic advice, project management, and hands-on development in the field of market access.

Susanne Schuurman has a strong educational background in health management and policy. Susanne obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Policy and Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2014. Susanne furthered their education at the same university and earned a Master of Science degree in Master Health Economics Policy and Law from 2014 to 2016. During this period, they also participated in an Erasmus Exchange program at the University of Eastern Finland. Additionally, they pursued a Master of Arts in International Health and Social Management at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School™ from 2015 to 2016. Furthermore, Susanne Schuurman has obtained certification from the Läkemedelsakademin in the 2nd Nordic-Baltic HTA Forum in December 2022.
