James A. Mitarotonda

James A. Mitarotonda, also known as Jim, is the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Barington Capital Group, L.P., an investment firm that he co-founded in 1991.

Mr. Mitarotonda is an experienced public company director. He currently serves as a director of Avon Products, Inc. and OMNOVA Solutions Inc. Mr. Mitarotonda has formerly served as a director of A. Schulman, Inc., The Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack, The Jones Group Inc. Griffon Corporation, Ameron International Corporation, Ebix, Inc. and Gerber Scientific, Inc., among other companies.

Mr. Mitarotonda received an M.B.A. from New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration (now known as the Stern School of Business) and a B.A. in economics from Queens College, where he is currently a member of the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Mitarotonda has been a Director of The Eastern Company since 2015 and has served as the Company’s Chairman since 2016.
