Garrett Gjerstad has extensive work experience in the aviation fueling industry. Garrett started their career in 2008 as a Professional Civil Engineer, specializing in civil facility design and layout, construction management, and project management. Garrett has worked on various types of aviation fueling facilities, including commercial, military, railroad, oil and gas, and general aviation. Throughout their career, they have been responsible for conducting facility studies, ensuring code compliance, managing client relations, and utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D. In addition to their engineering roles, Garrett has also served as a Business Unit Director for both the Commercial Aviation Central Region and the General Aviation/Small Systems divisions. Garrett has also held the position of Director of Project Management. Prior to their work in the aviation industry, Garrett was an Assistant Aquatic Manager for MizzouRec Services and Facilities from 2005 to 2008.
Garrett Gjerstad completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2003 to 2008. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management at The University of Kansas from 2013 to 2015. In March 2018, Garrett obtained the OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and Health certification.
