Mahmoud Al Bassam

Scientist at Arima Genomics

Mahmoud Al Bassam started their career as a Medical Lab Assistant at Queen Mary, University of London in 2003, where they worked until 2006. In 2007, they pursued a Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology at the University of East Anglia, focusing on the developmental biology of Streptomyces spp. Mahmoud completed their Ph.D. in 2011 and joined the John Innes Centre as a Postdoctoral Training Fellow until 2015. After that, they joined the University of California San Diego as a Postdoctoral Fellow and became an Assistant Project Scientist in 2017. Currently, Mahmoud Al Bassam is working as a Scientist at Arima Genomics, starting in January 2022.

Mahmoud Al Bassam pursued their education from 2004 to 2006 at Birkbeck, University of London, where they completed their MSc. degree in Microbiology. Afterward, from 2007 to 2011, they attended the University of East Anglia, where they successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
