Peter Parkinson

Peter Parkinson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in hardware engineering and product development. Currently serving as Sr. Director of Hardware Engineering at Arista Networks since July 2012, Peter oversees all aspects of hardware engineering. Previous roles include Director and Manager of Hardware Engineering at Arista, with a focus on the development of fixed system hardware and leadership of cross-functional teams. Prior to Arista, Peter held positions such as Principal at PParkinson & Associates, VP Engineering & Chief Safety Officer at Guardian Mobility, and Director of System Engineering at Alpine Microsystems. Early in the career, Peter contributed to notable projects at Firepower Systems, Apple Computer, and Tektronix, where Peter obtained two patents for IC design. Educational qualifications include a B.ASc in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from San Jose State University, and an M.ASc in Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
