Aristotle Capital
Richard Hollander is Chairman of Aristotle Capital. Previously, he ran Drexel Burnham Lambert’s West Coast investment-grade fixed income division from 1984 to 1989. The group was responsible for all real estate and mortgage-related activities, as well as for covering all West Coast banks and financial institutions. To capitalize on the opportunities present in the real estate market, Richard left Drexel in 1989 to form The Signature Group. In 1992, Richard acquired the securities lending operations from Bank of America to launch Metropolitan West Financial (now MetWest Ventures), an asset management and investment management platform. Under his leadership, MetWest Ventures has nurtured the development of several financial and investment advisory companies, with combined assets under management of $80 billion. These companies specialize in a wide range of investment management services, including core fixed income, value equity (both domestic and international), securities lending, corporate high yield, distressed debt and real estate.
Richard earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Ithaca College and completed his Master’s degree in Finance at St. John’s University, where he was later awarded an honorary doctorate. He is a Honorary Trustee of the Skirball Cultural Center and a member of the Board of Governors of the Cedars-Sinai Prostate Cancer Center.
