Joysaphine Waitman-Powell serves as the Chair of the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Peoria, Arizona, and has held multiple positions within the commission, including Vice Chair, Secretary, and Commissioner since January 2020. In addition, Joysaphine is the Director of Partnerships & Advocacy and Director of Civic Engagement & Special Projects for the Arizona Coalition for Change | Our Voice Our Vote Arizona since January 2024, and the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Strategic Founding Partner for Mentally Anonymous since May 2023. Joysaphine has been the Program Director at Fisher AME Zion Church since June 2019 and serves on the Board of Directors for Engaged Arizona since July 2020. Previously, Joysaphine has held roles such as Real Estate Asset Manager for Villa Vista Apartments at South Mountain, Recruitment & Staffing Coordinator for InterSolutions, LLC, and Talent Acquisition Manager for Erus Energy. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Edward Waters University and ongoing studies at Grand Canyon University.
