Jacob Sloan has had a diverse work experience throughout their career. Jacob is currently working as the Director of Software Development at the Arizona Diamondbacks, a position they have held since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Slalom from September 2021 to May 2022.
Before joining Slalom, Jacob worked at the Arizona Diamondbacks from November 2019 to September 2021, where they served as an Application Developer. In this role, they were responsible for building customer and business-facing apps using SQL Server/.Net Core (Razor)/MS Azure tech stack. Jacob also developed a free-to-play sports betting app for D-backs fans and built a COVID screening/contact tracing app with over 18,000 individual users. Additionally, they created a customer-facing ballpark game with leaderboards, levels, badges, points, and prizes, which garnered over 800,000 gameplays.
In 2018, Jacob started their journey at the Arizona Diamondbacks as a Customer Analyst and later transitioned to the role of Business Analytics Intern from January 2018 to July 2018.
Before joining the professional sports industry, Jacob gained experience in journalism as a Sports Columnist for The State Press (ASU Student Media) from September 2017 to December 2017. Jacob also held an internship position at DriveTime as a Marketing/Analytics Intern from June 2017 to December 2017.
Furthermore, Jacob had an internship opportunity at United Technologies as a Supply Chain Management Intern from May 2016 to March 2017.
Jacob'scareer started earlier in 2012 with an internship at Gradisar, Trechter, Ripperger & Roth, where they worked until July 2015. Additionally, they had a short-term internship at Tapia for Congress in June 2013.
Throughout their work experience, Jacob Sloan has gained expertise in software development, application development, customer analysis, business analytics, journalism, marketing, and supply chain management.
Jacob Sloan obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Business Data Analytics from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Jacob attended the university from 2015 to 2018. In addition to their degree, Jacob also holds a certification as a Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, which they obtained from Microsoft in April 2022.
