Sybil Francis has a diverse and extensive work experience. Sybil currently serves as the President & CEO of the Center for the Future of Arizona, a position they have held since July 2018. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director of the same organization from July 2002 to June 2018.
In addition to their role at the Center for the Future of Arizona, Sybil has also worked at the ASU Foundation for A New American University since 2002, where they serve as the Director for Strategic Advancement.
Sybil'sacademic career includes affiliations with Arizona State University, where they are a Faculty Affiliate in the School of Public Affairs and an Affiliated Scholar at the Center for Science, Policy and Outcomes since 2011.
Sybil's past experience also includes the role of Special Advisor to the President at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art from January 2001 to July 2002, and Senior Policy Analyst at the White House Office of Science and Technology from 1996 to 2000.
Sybil began their career as the Senior Legislative Director for Science and Technology Policy at Rep. George E. Brown, Jr.'s office from 1980 to 1985.
Sybil Francis earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College, which they attended from 1975 to 1979. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Science and Government from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completing their studies in 1995.
