Kevin Campbell is currently the Director at Arizona Technology Council. Prior to that, Kevin was the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology at Ashion Analytics from April 2015 to September 2016. Their role there included working with scientists and laboratory staff to streamline and automate workflow. Kevin was also responsible for the architecture, management, and daily operation of IT infrastructure at Ashion, which included all enterprise infrastructure, High Performance Computing (HPC), and large scale online, near-line, and archive storage platforms. Kevin oversaw the installation, optimization, and management of scientific applications within the HPC environment.
From April 2003 to April 2015, Kevin was the Director of High Performance Computing at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). Their responsibilities included managing a team of system engineers and a database engineer, as well as being responsible for the architecture, management and daily operations for all high performance computing environments. This included a 4000-core parallel cluster, a 1600-core parallel cluster, a 300-core parallel cluster, various large Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP) machines, and all scientific data storage requirements, which included several petabytes of storage across a number of different platforms. Kevin was also responsible for installation, optimization and management of scientific applications for the TGen HPC user community and collaborators.
During their time with TGen, Kevin was a key member of the team that brought two supercomputer systems to TGen that have placed in the top 100 most powerful supcomputers in the world (www.top500.org). Prior to TGen, Mr. Campbell worked for a number of companies designing, deploying and managing large-scale systems to solve complex problems. Mr. Campbell has worked within the Information Technology industry for over 20 years.
Kevin Campbell has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Grand Canyon University and attended Apollo High School.
