Patty Gibson

Patty Gibson, MD has extensive work experience in the field of psychiatry and behavioral health. Patty currently serves as the Medical Director of Behavioral Health at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a role they have held since October 2023. In addition to their current position, they are also the President of the Arkansas Psychiatric Society since May 2023.

Before their current roles, Dr. Gibson co-founded the Arkansas Behavioral Health Integration Network (ABHIN) in 2018, where they also served as the Chief Medical Officer. Prior to that, they worked as a Psychiatrist at Arkansas Health Group-Baptist Health Behavioral Health Integration from January 2021 to August 2023, and at Baptist Health-UAMS Psychiatry Residency from January 2021 to July 2022.

Dr. Gibson has also held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Alleviant Health Centers from October 2019 to August 2020. Patty previously served as the Medical Director, Integrated Primary Care - Behavioral Health Integration at Arkansas Health Group from January 2017 to October 2019.

Early in their career, Dr. Gibson worked as a Psychiatrist at various healthcare institutions, including the San Diego Veterans Hospital, Oceanside CBOC from May 2016 to December 2016, the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System from June 2009 to April 2016, and the G V Sonny Montgomery Veterans Medical Center from August 2006 to April 2009.

Patty Gibson, MD has an extensive education history. Patty completed their Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Patty then pursued a Residency in Anesthesiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, with a subspecialty in Anesthesiology-Neurosurgery. Additionally, they completed a Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, specializing in Adult Psychiatry. Patty also obtained a Fellowship in Addiction Medicine from the same institution. Patty holds certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. in Psychiatry, the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine in Addiction Medicine.
