Randal Hundley has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Randal began their career in 1985 as an Interventional Cardiologist at Heart Clinic Arkansas and worked there until 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they served as an Associate Medical Director at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, where they focused on medical policy and quality improvement. In 2009, they joined Arkansas Health Group as a Medical Director until 2013. Since 2013, Randal Hundley has been the Medical Director at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Randal Hundley attended Hendrix College from 1971 to 1975, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Randal then went on to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine from 1975 to 1979, obtaining a Medical Doctor (MD) degree in Medicine. Following that, they completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine from 1979 to 1982. Lastly, they attended Harvard Medical School from 1982 to 1985 for a Cardiology Fellowship in the field of Cardiology.
