V. Cortez Henderson is an accomplished Educational Professional with extensive experience in academic affairs and educational consultancy. Currently serving as an Academic Affairs Program Specialist at the Arkansas Department of Higher Education since October 2019, V. Cortez Henderson also operates VCH Educational Consultant, providing services as an educator, orator, author, and grant writer since January 1996. Previous roles include teaching 5th grade at Daisy Bates Elementary School and serving as a Family and Consumer Science Teacher at Pine Bluff School District, where V. Cortez Henderson developed programs focusing on improving family quality of life. As Vice President of Student Affairs at College of the Ouachitas from 2008 to 2011, V. Cortez Henderson led efforts to enhance student retention and engagement through innovative programs. Holding a PhD in Student Counseling and Personnel Services and a ME in Family & Consumer Sciences from Iowa State University, along with a BS in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, V.
