Jeff Bickmeier has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research and engineering. Jeff most recently worked at ArkeaBio as a Scientist starting in December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Zymergen, Inc. from March 2020 to December 2022, also as a Scientist. Before that, they were a Senior Strain Engineer at enEvolv from September 2016 to March 2020. Jeff also had a long tenure at Metabolix, where they held various roles from 2004 to 2016. At Metabolix, they were a Senior Research Associate and made significant contributions to the development of aPHAs (amorphous PHA) P3HBco4HB copolymer industrial strains and the synthesis of P5HV from lysine. Additionally, Jeff worked at the Institute of Arctic Biology DNA Core Lab as a Lab Technician in 2003 and 2004, where they maintained and operated equipment and conducted research on a saxitoxin generating Anabaena species.
Jeff Bickmeier obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2004. Prior to that, they also pursued a degree in Biology at the same university.
