Jean-François Blain

Jean-François leads the biology group at Arkuda, spearheading the exploratory science the company does to better understand the role of proganulin. He was inspired to conduct research on neurodegenerative diseases during graduate school, as his grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease a few years prior. Having seen how dementia is devastating as much for the family as for the patient, he was inspired to better understand these diseases with the hope of developing new, effective therapeutics.

Jean-François has over 20 years of experience in the fields of neurodegenerative disease and neuroscience drug development spanning academia, pharma and biotech startups. Over the course of his career he’s touched every stage of drug discovery, from target validation to early clinical development.
